About Micaela
Micaela Rivera started her healthcare career as a CNA at a 200-bed skilled nursing facility in Houston in 2014. After four years of direct patient care, she enrolled in Lone Star College’s practical nursing program while working part-time PRN shifts. She completed the LPN program in 2018 and passed NCLEX-PN on her first attempt.
That path — CNA to LPN while working — is the one she understands from the inside. She knows what bridge programs actually credit (and what they don’t), which facilities run tuition assistance programs that are real versus theoretical, and what the day-to-day difference between CNA and LPN scope looks like in practice. She currently works at an outpatient clinic and writes to help CNAs who are deciding whether and how to advance their credentials.
Micaela also reviews articles at CNAJobPath.com that cover CNA job settings and pay, bringing an LPN clinical perspective to content written by CNAs.
